The
World Rhythm Project was founded in the year 2002 by multi percussionist
Sascha Gotowtschikow and fellow musician and ethnomusicologist András
Varsányi as a means of bringing together the different drumming
traditions from around the world.
Strongly influenced by asian drumming styles the ensemble utilizes
in it´s recent program "Asian Drum Beatz" more than
thirty exotic, partially unknown percussion instruments from asian
and african countries like India, Bali, Java, Japan, Uganda and combines
them in their traditional playing styles into a new exciting mixture
of global drum beatz.
